Parent and school communication expectations

 Communication expectations

At Asker International School, we are guided by integrity in all that we do. We believe that open, honest and respectful communication between home and school is essential in building positive relationships and supporting every child's success.

We encourage parents and carers to contact us with any questions, concerns or feedback. We ask that all communication, whether in person, by telephone or by email, is courteous, constructive and respectful. School staff have the right to work in an environment free from intimidation, harassment, threatening language or derogatory or abusive behaviour.

To support staff wellbeing and maintain a healthy work-life balance, we ask parents to be mindful of when emails are sent and, wherever possible, to communicate during normal working hours. While emails may be sent outside these hours, parents should not expect an immediate response. Staff are encouraged to disconnect from work outside the school day and will respond during working hours.

Please allow up to 24 working hours for a response to emails. More complex matters may require additional time or may be better addressed through a scheduled meeting.

Where correspondence contains threatening, offensive, derogatory or abusive language, the school reserves the right not to respond until communication can take place in a respectful and constructive manner. In such circumstances, communication may be referred to a member of the Senior Leadership Team, or future discussions may be conducted in person or through a formal meeting.

We are committed to working in partnership with families and will always seek to address genuine concerns in a professional, respectful and solution-focused manner.
